This
year 110 artists from across the United States and
Canada submitted 260 entries to the NPS 22nd
International Open Exhibition. Our juror/judge,
Margot Schulzke, selected 70 beautiful paintings for
our show to be held at the elegant and spacious
American Art Company in Tacoma, WA. The entries
were of very high quality and represented a wide
variety of subject matter and style. We thank her
for the difficult task of jurying and judging the
exhibit.
On behalf of the Northwest
Pastel Society I would like the thank Craig and
Tammy Radford, owners of The American Art Company,
for offering their gallery to us and for their
assistance coordinating our exhibit. We are most
grateful to our donors for their enthusiastic,
generous, and on-going participation.
Finally I
would like to express gratitude to my amazing show
committee whose assistance made this show a huge
success and my job far less stressful than it could
have been, in alphabetical order:

Penny
Chadwell once again prepared the award certificates and
catalog inserts.
Pat Meras
accepted the on-going position of awards chair with
energy and imagination.
Judith and
Sherwood Smith brought us into the digital world with
the intake of digital entries.
Donna Trent
took on advertising and advising me with her vast
knowledge of the workings of NPS.
Jane Wallis
continues to minimize the enormous job of editor of the
prospectus, postcards, and catalog. She says it is
already formatted on her computer!
Thank you
all! Beth Brooks, Show Chair
