Lopez Island is always a favorite place for me to paint, and this year was even better due to the enjoyable company of artists there. It was a casual and relaxing environment. We were able to exchange ideas freely and I felt encouraged to experiment with new approaches.....looking forward to doing this again,  Anni Leedy

The Paint-Out was too much fun!  Reconnecting with an inspired bunch of painters is a luxury in itself, however, painters bring many riches to the party.  They're so funny, and encouraging, and funny, and generous, and funny, and hard working, and funny, and interesting, and fun, and basically an inexhaustible comedy goldmine!  Thanks for the memories and ALL the STORIES!  It was great rubbing shoulders and hearts with all of you.  Blue Skies~ Pat Meras

There is no place quite like an island. Living on an island myself, I can appreciate the special fabric of community, pride in preservation and relationship with nature. They say that once you have slept on an island, it has you.

NPS Paint-Outs are perfect for 'getting away' - 'painting all day' - 'artist networking' - 'storytelling' - 'wine tasting'
Yes, our Paint-Outs allow artists to get away and focus on painting. Each day we had a morning paint, and a late afternoon paint - when the light is best!  The evenings found us gathered in our grand suite or a local restaurant, talking about our day of challenges, problem-solving and successes, over delicious food and wine. What could be better?!
Watch for the location of next year's Paint-Out!

Lopez Sheep - they were there when you didn't want them, but when you began to paint them, they disappeared!
