Old Barns have a dignity and charm but
how does a painter meet the challenge without painting a
cliché? Just ask Bill McEnroe!
On Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009 at the
Kingsgate Library in Kirkland to a packed crowd he did just
that at his demo for the Northwest Pastel Society. Bill
demonstrated how he begins a work with loose lines bordering
the picture plane, “just to get him engaged into the
picture”. He then translates his composition and value
sketch “loosely” and begins to paint with joy, humor and
professionalism.
Thank you, Bill, for setting the stage
for the upcoming NPS Member’s Show by inspiring us, helping
us see how joyful painting can be and how image can be used
as an element of excitement and potential rather than being
overbearing and rigid.
