NPS 2011 Paint Out
Camp Casy, Whidbey Island
July 27 - August 1

NPS member, Pat Meras, at the Camp Casey Paint Out.

This year's NPS Paint Out, held at Camp Casey on Whidbey Island, was a huge success. Scroll down to read rave reviews from the Paint Out participants.

Here are few comments from Paint Out participants:

"Thanks to all involved in making the Camp Casey art experience happen. Being new to pastels, I mostly just soaked up all the wonderful experience and knowledge that was being put out there by so many wonderful artists. Fun to see and learn about new processes and materials. I will continue to be a painter in acrylics, but now can see ways to incorporate pastels for certain desired effects. The location, the people, the demos, the fun, the laughs, and the inspiration - it was all good."

~ Becky Knold

"Special thanks to Karen and Jan for all of the work it took to organize this event and make it an enjoyable time for all. The hours of coordination and planning the demos were all appreciated. I loved the flexibility to do your own thing and meet other artists, This was an opportunity to see some wonderful work, exchange ideas and generally be inspired by so many talented artists. I hope we can do this again."

~ Thanks, Mia Schulte

"Thanks to all and to Jan and Karen. It was great place to be, enjoy and be with such great artists. Thanks."

~ Rob Ramage

"Thanks Jan and Karen for organizing the paint out and for your hard work making it happen. It was great to paint with so many pastel artists at one time and see the variety of work at the end of day. Having a home base to return to each day and reconnect with the whole group worked well...our own pastel art summer camp. Thanks everyone for coming! Happy trails campers."

~ Michael Fisher

"I just want to say it was really wonderful meeting new painters, working and hanging out with everyone, learning new things and having great conversations, laughs and meals with you all! I appreciated all the great demos, thanks for taking the time to share your skills with us all. And Jan and Karen, thanks for all your hard work to put this together. Can't wait until next year! The best to everyone."
